REEBOK REGIONAL PREVIEW U20
The game at Abertillery Park between the Dragons and the second placed Scarlets has been postponed until next Wednesday, but the table-topping Ospreys travel to Cardiff to face the Blues at the Arms Park. Victory for them will increase their lead at the top over the Scarlets whilst making them a racing certainty for next month’s final.
High Performance Manager Mostyn Richards said: “It has been a wonderful achievement by the U19 this season and we were all delighted for the boys that they won it in such style last week.
“Now, the boys will be turning their attention back to the WRU Reebok Championship with the four sides desperate to follow on from the national side’s lead of late.
“Then, next weekend, many of the boys will be travelling out to Dubai for the IRB U19 World Championship. These are very interesting and exciting times for the age grade game in Wales.”
The Ospreys currently top the table with four wins and 19 points and if they make it five successes, as they should, their lead will be all but unassailable. For the Blues, tonight’s game on home soil provides them with an opportunity to alter their fortunes – they have yet to register a win this season and are currently rock bottom of the table.
