Neath captain Steve Martin thanked 2,500 jubilant fans inside The Gnoll for their support he raised the Principality Premiership trophy. Martin, amid the fans in the stands was presented with a commemorative bowl by WRU Chief Executive Steve Lewis and Jeremy Evans, manager of the Neath branch of The Principality.

Martin told the fans he expects many more years of success and how happy he collect the trophy and make 2005-6 a second successive Premiership winning season. Beaten just once this term, Neath clinched the crown with three games remaining by beating Bridgend 40-19.

The result was never really in doubt after early tries from H Jenkins and C Mitchell. Bridgend scored tries from A Whitney (26) and M Hutchins (37), but their revival was short lived as Jenkins scored his second try of the game one minute before half time.

Late scores from W Mitchell and B Davies wrapped up the tries for Neath, and with it, a second successive Principality Premiership crown.
