NEW KEYS TO MILLENNIUM STADIUM LOOS

The versatile venue has shown its attention to customer service once again and taken this important step towards ensuring disabled visitors enjoy their experience at the venue as much as able bodied visitors.

Whether it’s a music concert or a sporting showpiece, disabled people can rest assured they won’t have to face toilets that may have been abused or misused from this moment on.

The Stadium’s 37 disabled toilets have all been fitted with Radar locks, so called because the scheme was launched by the Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation. 

The locks, funded at the Stadium by the Wooden Spoon Society charity, can only be opened by genuine users who can obtain the unique key.

“We intend to provide the best facilities we can for disabled spectators”, said Gerry Toms, Head of Operations and Safety, Millennium Stadium.

“Unfortunately there is a significant minority of the public who think nothing of using the facilities we have just for disabled people and quite often misuse them.

“The Radar scheme is effective in over 8000 venues across the UK and is successful in cutting instances of misuse quite significantly. Anything that adds to our visitors enjoyment of the Millennium Stadium experience is worthwhile.” He added.
