Celtic won 14-10 at Kidwelly in the opening round before disposing of Dolgellau 19-9 and Bryncethin Sports 16-8, both at home. They have already surpassed last season’s effort when they were beaten in Round 1.
Perhaps the pick of the ties will be at Carmarthen where the Quins will host fellow One West outfit, Merthyr. The Ironmen had a good run last season, reaching Round 4 where they were beaten 22-8 at Newport, so they will be keen for another crack at Premier opposition.
Both Four North sides have to travel, with Caernarfon facing a difficult trip to Beddau, while Pwllheli visit Abercynon. There will be an all-Cardiff derby at Hailey Park with Llandaff North of Four East entertaining St Peter’s of Three South East; the Rocks are still remembered for that epic cup victory over Cardiff at the Arms Park back in the 1992-1993 season.
