Humphreys injury boosts Scarlets’ chances
This season’s Heineken Cup top scorer damaged his left elbow in Ulster’s New Year’s Eve defeat at Leinster and will miss the Irish province’s pool game against the Scarlets.
The Welsh region lead Pool 5 by eight points, thanks to their four wins from four record, and a win at Ulster’s Ravenhill on January 13th will put them out of reach.
An MRI scan on Humphreys’s left elbow has shown no broken bones. Yet there is only an outside chance that the seventy-two times capped Ireland fly half will be fit for Ulster’s Magners League trip to the Ospreys at the end of January.
