Round Up: ASDA Leagues East

The Wanderers welcome back Blues centre Dafydd Hewitt into the squad for Saturday's clash with Pontypridd at the Memorial Ground.

Hooker Dean Evans scored the only try of the game for Llantrisant, who maintained their unbeaten run in the league while title rivals Rumney saw their game rained off.

Third-placed Rhydyfelin kept their promotion push alive with a 35-8 victory over Pill Harriers while struggling Nantymoel gave their survival chances a major boost with a vital 29-8 win over Abergavenny following tries from Nathan Davies, Sion Hunnan, Jeremy Williams and Graham Morgan.

ASDA League Three East leaders Penallta have one hand on the title after opening a nine-point lead following a ten-try demolition of Senghenydd. Chris Harries crossed twice in the 60-17 win that was made all the better after rivals Newport HSOB crashed 27-20 at Pontypool United.

Pencoed marched on in ASDA League Three South East with a solid defensive display in their 18-0 win over struggling Pentyrch, while St Peters and Fairwater both notched up useful wins.

ASDA League Four East pace-setters Garndiffaith and Monmouth kept their foot down with wins over Trinant and Llandaff North but third-placed Nantyglo needed a late penalty try to see off Risca.

ASDA League Four South-East leaders Bedlinog squeezed past Taffs Well 9-3 while ASDA League Five East leaders Abertillery BG avenged their only defeat of the season, 20-13 over Gwernyfed.
