Czekaj & Robinson celebrate Stadium’s 50th cap

Cardiff Blues teammates Czekaj and Robinson were amongst the thousands of Welsh fans who watched Wales beat South Africa on June 26th 1999 and today the pair helped to celebrate a significant milestone courtesy of a ‘Birthday’ cake supplied by forwards coach Robin McBryde.

“A Wales fan sent me this huge cake as a good luck gesture so I’ve passed it on to a couple of the new kids on the block,” said McBryde. “Chris and Jamie will be joined by Alun Wyn Jones, James Hook and Chris Horsman, who all make Six Nations debuts, in getting the first bite of the cake at supper time tonight.

“Aled Brew and Matthew Rees might also be allowed a nibble if they make it off the replacements bench and we will all toast the Millennium Stadium’s 50th cap while we’re at it.”

McBryde’s cake has been supplied by Gwent-based Helen Withers of www.sensationalcreations.co.uk and, as a fruit cake, has been passed by Wales Team Nutritionist Dan Kings – as long as it is not eaten by the players less than four hours after the game!
