Jenkins leads praise for fly half
Hook scored 22 points, including Wales’s first try inside just two minutes, to inspire the Welsh Dragons to their first win of the RBS Six Nations Championship.
Jenkins hailed his outside half following the man of the match display: “He deserved the bottle of champagne because he was outstanding and showed again how talented he is as he switched jerseys today and made a huge contribution.”
Jenkins was beaming as Wales ended their duck and avoided both an RBS Six Nations whitewash and the wooden spoon with the rousing victory over their arch rivals in Cardiff.
Jenkins said: “This win will do wonders for the squad and proves how much potential we have here. We will enjoy this moment but it’s still work in progress to the Rugby World Cup.
“This was our first RBS Six Nations together and we’ve had to learn some hard lessons, but we showed we have learned those lessons with this display. We still have a long way to go but it’s nice to have a win behind us before the summer tour.”
