A touch of Blass for WRU
The deal, which was negotiated by Frontiers Group (UK) Limited, represents the WRU’s first ever wine partnership and will see the award-winning international brand sold at the Millennium Stadium throughout public retail outlets and in all corporate hospitality facilities where Wolf Blass will be the wine of choice.
In addition, spectators will have the opportunity to sample and purchase wine at a unique Wolf Blass branded trailer at Gate 3 on all international match days.
WRU Group Chief Executive Roger Lewis said, “Wolf Blass is a premium brand and a quality product and we are delighted to welcome them on board as the exclusive wine partner to the WRU.”
In addition to pouring rights, Wolf Blass will enjoy a raft of benefits including extensive brand awareness, tickets, use of facilities and access to a number of Welsh players for promotional use.
Jeremy Gibson, Senior Wine Brand Manager for Wolf Blass Wines, commented, “Wolf Blass is a brand built on tradition, passion, quality and flair – all qualities that we would associate with Welsh Rugby! We are delighted to have joined with the WRU and the Millennium Stadium as their exclusive wine partner and we look forward to building a successful long term partnership.”
This partnership extends Wolf Blass’s strong association with sport in the UK. The brand is already the exclusive wine partner to the Rugby Football Union and to the Seven International Cricket Test Match Grounds – Lord’s, The Brit Oval, Old Trafford, Headingley, Trent Bridge, Edgbaston and Chester-le-Street.
