Wales U16 fall to Italians
The Italians were much bigger and more powerful and hit the front with a try by their prop, Vinditti, which outside half Iononne converted. The only Welsh response in the first half was a penalty by fullback Ian Smerddon.
The Italians added a penalty of their own through Iononne in the second half before Wales hit back with a try. A kick into the Italian 22 set up a driving line-out from which No.8 Garrick Legge scored. The conversion went wide.
Wales now meet France in their final match on Wednesday. The French just beat the Italians, but went down 13-10 to the England team that overpowered Wales 32-10 in the opening round.
