The Swansea club sit fourth in the table after the weekend’s games, a substantial 14 points behind leaders Tonmawr, but Williams insists that lead is not unassailable.
He said: “I think the weather will dictate a lot of what happens. Tonmawr have an exceptional backline and, on a dry day, can cause havoc against anyone. But bad conditions are a great leveller and there are a lot of good packs in this league. Ourselves, Llangennech and Carmarthen Quins are all good teams so there’s plenty left in it yet.”
On the field, Bonymaen went behind to an Adrian Thomas penalty in the first period, but a determined second half performance saw centre Tim Payne go over for a try, converted by Richard Cunliffe, and Paul Warlow kick a penalty goal to seal a welcome victory.
Meanwhile, the weather caused Tonmawr few problems this weekend as they eased to a 39-6 away win at Dunvant. The leaders scored six tries in the process with Ben Davies grabbing a brace and Dean Fitzgerald, Mike Evans, Adrian Phillips and Dai Price completing the rout.
Corus finally broke their league duck this season with a well deserved 20-7 home win over Whitland. The basement boys defied their league standing to run three tries, from Robbie Morgan, Chris Kinsey and Robert Manning, past their visitors.
Narberth stormed back from 10-3 down to beat Cwmllynfell 19-10 at the Lewis Lloyd Ground. A Gareth Kinsey try and five points from the boot of Rhys Thomas had given Cwmllynfell their lead, but a rejuvenated home side powered to victory with a try from winger Andrew Jones and 14 points from Aled Davies.
In the only other game that survived in the West, Bridgend Athletic were 20-17 winners at Merthyr.
In the East, leaders Pontypool welcomed Llanharan to Pontypool Park. Home winger Saulo Roco and his opposite number James Harris exchanges tries in a tight first half, which Pooler shaded 17-13, but it was one-way traffic after the break as tries from Jamie Jeune, Phil Price and a penalty try secured the Gwent side a bonus point 36-13 triumph.
In the other game, second placed Bargoed were too strong for visiting Beddau as Jeremy Howells collected a full-house of scores in a 21-9 victory.
