Round Up: Reebok Regional U16

Round Up: Reebok Regional U16

Wales legend Graham Price hopes history will repeat itself when Pontypool face Cardiff in the third round of the Konica Minolta Cup.

The Ospreys U16 kept up the pressure on the Blues North U16 with a fourth victory of the season in the U16 Reebok Regional Championship, over the Dragons U16.

Having come from behind to beat the Gwent region at Tredegar earlier in the season, the Ospreys U16 struck in similar fashion at Llandarcy Academy to win 33-8, with a bonus point to boot. Wing Brian Barlow bagged a first half try which full back Tom Prydie converted, but the Dragons U16 led 8-7 at the interval courtesy of an unconverted try from Alex Cooper and a penalty from outside half Lewis Roblin.

However, in the second half, it was one way traffic with the Ospreys U16 crossing for four tries without reply. Barlow added his second before a brace from Eli Walker and a final try from centre Andrew Collins completed the rout. Prydie added three conversions for good measure as the holders closed the gap on the Blues North U16.

The other game between the Blues North U16 and the Scarlets U16, at Aberdare, was called off due to a frozen pitch. The game is likely to be rescheduled for January.
