RBS Six Nations ticket boost for last minute shoppers

RBS Six Nations ticket boost for last minute shoppers

The WRU has come up with the ideal Christmas present for last minute shoppers striving for that perfect gift for the person who already has everything this year – tickets for any of Wales’s home RBS Six Nations matches at the Millennium Stadium in 2008.

With just four days left before the big day fans will be able to buy tickets from 12-noon tomorrow (Friday 21 December) on Ticketmaster.co.uk, from the hotline 08705 582 582 or in person at the Ticketline UK office –  47 Westgate Street, Cardiff – to watch Warren Gatland’s new Wales team take on Scotland,  Italy and France in the new coach’s first matches in charge.

Tickets ordered online or over the ticket hotline will not be guaranteed to turn up before Christmas, but WRU bosses have taken the unique step of ensuring ticket stock is available for collection to personal callers at the Ticketline UK shop in Cardiff, so fans can pick up actual tickets in time to fill their loved one’s Christmas stocking.

Wales take on Scotland at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday 9th February (Kick-off 2pm) in the second match of their campaign – after visiting England at Twickenham on 2nd February – next Italy come to town on Saturday 23rd February (Kick-off 3.00pm) and Gatland’s first Six Nations at the helm reaches its finale on Saturday 15th March (5.00pm) against France in Cardiff.

The French game will be extra special as we celebrate 100 years since we first played les Blues in the Championship and could potentially mark the occasion when we go for our 10th Grand Slam, also 100 years on from the first.

Tickets have been selling well for the matches in the normal way – through each of the WRU’s 241 member clubs – but a few thousand for each game in a range of prices (£40, £50, £55, £60) have now been released back to the Union to allow public sale.

“Tickets are expected to sell-out and sell-out quickly for all of our Six Nations matches,” said WRU head of ticketing and compliance Julie Paterson.

” Fans are advised to act quickly to avoid disappointment, as demand will be particularly high for what is undoubtedly the perfect Christmas present for rugby lovers throughout the nation.”
