Connacht’s Andy Dunne landed five penalties while Rhys Priestland kicked six goals for the Scarlets.

But it was Dunne’s 82nd minute effort that won the game for the Irish side. Conor O’Loughlin scored the only try of the game after 34 minutes to help Connacht to a 14-6 half-time lead.

The Scarlets were missing stars Stephen Jones, Dwayne Peel, Alix Popham and Vernon Cooper and it showed as they slumped to a defeat which could cost them dear at the end of the season.
