The Llanelli Scarlets are blighted by injuries ahead of their Heineken Cup tie at London Wasps.

The Scarlets are the only side without a point in the Heineken Cup this season and have the prospect of facing the tournament holders without a number of their best players.

British Lions and Wales half-back pair Stephen Jones and Dwayne Peel have been ruled out of their away clash against the defending champions on Sunday. Fly half Jones has failed to recover in time from a bruised thumb while scrum half Peel has damaged shoulder ligaments.

And Scarlets Coach Phil Davies’s woes continue as he is also forced to make do without star centre Regan King as well as Alix Popham, Matthew Rees, Gavin Thomas, Nathan Brew, Dafydd James, Morgan Stoddart and Gavin Evans.

Scarlets: Ceiron Thomas; Darren Daniel, Matthew Watkins, Gavin Evans, Mark Jones; Rhys Priestland, Liam Davies; Iestyn Thomas, James Hayter, Deacon Manu, Adam Eustace, Scott Macleod, Dafydd Jones, Simon Easterby (Capt), Nathan Thomas

Replacements: Daniel George, Bruce Douglas, Dominic Day, James Bater, Gavin Cattle, Jonathan Davies, Garan Evans, Phil John, Daniel Evans

Referee: Christophe Berdos (France)
