With second placed Ebbw Vale’s fixture falling victim to the weather, Beach’s salvo ensured the Welsh All Blacks took advantage of their game in hand over their Gwent rivals and put his side in pole position to retain their title.

Bridgend continued their dramatic turnaround in form as they recorded their fourth win in five games to beat Llanelli 9-7 at the Brewery Field. Fullback Gareth David accounted for all his side’s points with three penalties.

Roger Davies and Glen Holloway grabbed tries in Cardiff’s 15-0 home triumph over Llandovery while Adam Thomas scored the only try of the match in Pontypridd’s 13-0 victory at Cross Keys.

Glamorgan Wanderers returned to winning ways with a 14-0 win over Bedwas.
