‘Man of the tournament’ Shane Williams guides viewers through the campaign in an exclusive game by game interview and a specially commissioned WRU camera gives unique dressing room access to what Martyn Williams describes as the culmination of “the best weeks of my life in Welsh rugby”.
The 135 minute disc contains match footage of every significant moment of the campaign.
But more than that, for the first time in recent history Head Coach Warren Gatland allowed cameras into the inner sanctum of the Welsh dressing room at half-time and post-match on Grand Slam day.
That camera captured amazing scenes which will wow Wales fans around the world and recorded exclusive shown-on-this-DVD-only interviews with Gatland, Stephen Jones, Mike Phillips, Martyn Williams and Ryan Jones in the euphoric atmosphere of the Champions dressing room.

Wales’s new record try-scorer Williams tells us his confidence started to grow during the 47-8 defeat of Italy: “Everything we tried came off, we knew that if we were to progress in the Championship we needed to prove we had an edge about us and finish off teams and that was the game-plan against Italy.”
And confidence was then rife for the Ireland clash at Croke Park: “We went into the Ireland game with confidence on a high. In front of a full-house at Croke Park it was intimidating, but we were playing to win and we had the self belief.”
Then it was the title-decider, the Grand Slam clash with France and the pressure mounted: “This truly was a massive game and the tension was incredible, on the morning of the match you’d swear that it was the last day on earth, you could hear a pin drop on the team bus, in the changing room and the team meeting before we left for the game. Everyone was nervous, but more importantly we were excited.”
Fans have the chance to get the closest they ever will to sampling the feeling Williams is talking about on an historic day for Welsh rugby, with exclusive unseen footage “Seven Days of Grand Slam Glory!” takes you on an incredible journey side-by-side with the players – sample every bump and bruise and experience the amazing highs of Wales’s 2008 RBS Six Nations Grand Slam.
In one signature scene, defence coach Shaun Edwards is seen standing inside a circle of players urging them on to a second half performance which sealed victory and the second Grand Slam title for Wales in three years. Also captured is the moment inside the victorious changing room when the team burst into their adopted theme song, ‘Saturday Night At The Movies’, before heading off for a celebration dinner with the French team.
“I’ve watched the behind the scenes footage three times myself and it is compelling viewing the behind the scenes footage gives a unique insight into what the players and management go through during a tournament,” added WRU chief executive Roger Lewis.
“I’m particularly delighted that fans will have the opportunity to relive these famous moments in the history of the Welsh game for years to come.”
