Worthington’s Silver Ball Final – Tonmawr 50 Aberavon Green Stars 12
Former Neath skipper Gareth Morris was in a class above every other player on the field. He scored three tries and set up two more to take the Man of the Match Award. Skipper Rob Hill was also outstanding for the winners, while Ryan Jones and Damian Adams stood out for the Green Stars.
Morris scored solo efforts after five and ten minutes with Dave Tieuti goaling the latter, yet the Green Stars came back with an Adams try only for Morris to send Hill over and then score his third try with Tieuti converting both.
Before the interval, Ryan Jones ran brilliantly to send fullback Richard Lewis over and Jones converted but Tonmawr were not to be halted and second-half tries came from Hill, replacement hooker Rhys Lawrence, centre Will Price and wing Richard Randell, two being converted by Tieuti.
