The 33-year-old has a wealth of experience in the conditioning field. His most recent post was with the Welsh Rugby Union where he was the National Academy trainer for two years. Prior to that he had spent three years with Ebbw Vale and three years with Newport Gwent Dragons.
He said: “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity of working with the Scarlets. They have a proven pedigree in European rugby and they are extremely ambitious. Their new stadium is a statement of intent and I am looking forward to being involved in a world class environment.”
Chief Executive Stuart Gallacher said of the appointment: “Ryan, as one of the top Welsh fitness coaches in the country, will compliment our new head conditioning coach Brad Harrington who is from the southern hemisphere and we are confident they will provide the experience and expertise required at the elite level in professional rugby.”
