Fijian stars bolster Army Sevens side

The British Army have bolstered their squad with a star Fijian import as they bid to retain the Cwmtawe Sevens title.

Wales’ top Sevens tournament takes place at Pontardawe on Saturday, August 2 with 24 teams competing for the £5000 top prize.

And it is the Britsh Army who are the side to beat after walking off with the trophy three times in the past six years, and they have added Fijian firepower in the shape of international centre Apolosi Satala.

Satala’s eye-catching style is expected to add thousands to the crowd for the one-day event, and with sides such as Samurai 7 and last season’s runners up Kooga Wailers amongst the sides competing for the cup organisers will be aiming to raise huge sums for their supported charity.

Proceeds from the Cwmtawe Sevens will go to the Physiotherapy Department at Morriston Hospital.
