In contrast to their recent matches, the home side started the quicker of the two teams and good forward play from Marc Morris and Joe Sproston led to Gogledd Cymru having the majority of the possession.

Unfortunately, for the hosts that is, the Dragons scored from their first real break of the game where good handling led to full-back Nicki Williams scoring in the corner.

Their lead was cut to just two points when Callum Bennett slotted over a long-range penalty and although they scored again through a try from Matthew Jolly, it was the home side who finished the stronger. And following a mistake by the Dragons mid-field, Henry Roberts was unlucky not to score in the corner.

The second half saw Gogledd Cymru again start strongly and they were unlucky not to score when what would otherwise have been a try-scoring pass was intercepted almost on the Dragons try-line.

This was the final try-scoring chance the home side had, as the Dragons, bolstered by their impressive bench, began to take a stranglehold on the game.

Although the North Walian youngsters and in particular Tom Beaumont, Craig Horsman and Josh Francis never gave up, they simply could not cope with the superior power and size of the Dragons and further tries from Rhodri Jones, Jonathan Evans and Michael Webber provided the Dragons with a bonus point win.
