Making the announcement today, Cardiff’s rugby chairman Malcolm Childs said, “Alex was hoping that he could balance the twin responsibilities of his role as Director of Sport at Trinity School in Croydon with his appointment as the Blue and Blacks’ head coach.
“Unfortunately he has found the amount of travelling required for up to four times a week as well as the responsibilities of both jobs too much. We have reluctantly accepted his decision to stand down and wish him well in the future.”
The club has confirmed that the first team squad will play an extra friendly fixture against Beddau at Cardiff Arms Park this Friday evening, 28 November, at 7.15pm.
