Club supporters and sponsors had been given the unique opportunity to choose their icons, with the dinner and social evening then organised in celebration of those players’ contributions. The event was a sell out and proved to be a great success.
The thirteen all time greats of Pontypridd RFC who were accorded the status of “Legends” on the night were: Dai Love; Russell Robbins; Eddie Jones; Graham Gittins; Bob Penberthy; Joe Smith; Tom David; Phil John; Steele Lewis; Nigel Bezani; Dale McIntosh; Paul John; Neil Jenkins.
BBC Wales broadcasters Peter Johnston and Phil Steele were the master of ceremonies and guest speaker respectively, with a five course dinner, entertainment and raffle of rugby memorabilia enjoyed by the guests.
