The Australian, who missed out on last weekend’s opening match against Leicester due to a knee injury, has been in full training this week ahead of the match.
Norton-Knight made his state debut for the ACT against Fiji in the lead up to the 2003 Rugby World Cup and made his Super Rugby debut in 2005 for the Brumbies and joined the Waratahs in 2006.
Speaking ahead of the match Sam said, “It’s good for me to get some game time before the start of the league and obviously important to get a run under my belt. A friendly match is best environment to do it so I’m really looking forward to it.”
“It been a bit frustrating not being able to take full part in training and has made things a bit difficult with new patterns to learn and understand the plays fully from the sidelines.”
“Not spending time on the pitch means you can’t develop as much as you’d like that’s why this week has been so good.”
“I’ve certainly been impressed with the attention to detail in the sessions and have played with Gareth and Richie inside me. They both have great service which makes things a bit easier for whoever is playing 10.”
The Blues also welcome back John Yapp and Leigh Halfpenny who also missed out on last Friday’s match.
Northampton as expected to bring their strongest squad for the match which could prove to be another challenging match for the Blues.
