Wanderers resist Fish temptation

After his amazing intervention on Saturday coach Richard Hodges resists the temptation to start with Dan Fish but he makes three changes to the starting line-up for the trip to Aberavon.

In the backs Rory Budina, another player from the productive Llantwit Major club, comes in on the wing and in the pack Scott Andrews starts in place of Mark O’Leary who steps down to the bench.

Tom Evans who suffered a broken ankle at the end of last season makes his first appearance of the season in the second row with Ben rose missing out and Richard Thomas shuffling back into the back row.

Fish proved a major influence when coming on as a second half replacement against Ebbw Vale last weekend in the opening round of the Principality Premiership. Vale led 23-0 at the break but the jet heeled Youth product made an instant impact when he scorched over for one try and set up another as the Wanderers came from behind to secure a narrow victory.

But Hodges has decided to keep the young dangerman on the bench as Wanderers seek to win their second game on the trot against a side who also recorded a victory on opening day (at Pontypool). History isn’t on Wanderers side as they lost at Aberavon last season before gaining revenge on the return clash.
