The All Blacks versus All Whites fixture is one of the most enduring and attractive of Welsh club fixtures and this remains so even in the regional age so spectators are advised to arrive well in advance of the 7.15pm kick off.
For much of the season either Swansea or Neath have been top of the table in a battle that looks likely to go to the wire.
After earning an efficient 27-10 success at Pandy Park last Friday, Neath are boosted by the return of centre Nathan Brew, skipper Arwel Thomas, scrum-half Kevin Farrell, prop Vinny Lott and lock Neil Edwards.
Neath Head Coach Patrick Horgan said: “Neath against Swansea is always a big attraction on our fixture-list and one we always look forward to. There is a long way to go but, of course, it is given added spice by our current placings at the top of the Premiership.
“With the Ospreys not playing, there should be a good crowd at The Gnoll for the occasion and we fully expect a big challenge from Swansea who had a very good win over Pontypridd last week after their surprising defeats at Newport and Pontypool.
“As expected we had to work very hard to overcome Cross Keys at their Pandy Park stronghold and as usual they scrapped for everything so it was good preparation. The boys have shown fantastic spirit and, if we can maintain our approach, we will deserve success.
“As ever though if we are to succeed our organisation and discipline will need to be spot on because Richard Webster will have Swansea right up for this one. One of Wales’ best referees Tim Hayes is in command and it promises to be a full-on local derby.
“We are looking forward to it and so are our supporters who relish these local ties. Really, it is a must-see for all those in the locality who call themselves rugby supporters.”
