SWALEC CUP, PLATE AND BOWL FIXTURES
SWALEC BOWL 2010/11
Round One
Forty ties take place on the weekend of October 9 in the first round of the SWALEC Bowl with holders Abercarn of Four East starting the defence of their trophy at home to neighbours Oakdale who have been promoted to Four East. Oakdale reached round three last season before being knocked out at previous Plate finalists Risca so it will be a tough start.
Last season’s losing finalists Trebanos have a home tie against Swansea University so will be hopeful of making progress while semi-finalists Pontardawe travel to Pyle of Four South West.
Senghenydd, the other semi-finalist from last season, have drawn a bye.
Abergele, Menai Bridge, Llangoed, Llangollen and Flint all make their debuts in the competition with Abergele entertaining Bangor, Menai Bridge at home to COBRA and Llangollen hosting Llangoed in all North Wales clashes while Flint receive Llandrindod Wells of Six South East.
Brynithel just missed out on promotion from Five East last season and they travel to fellow Five East side Llanhilleth. With both league matches having been drawn last term a tough encounter is anticipated.
