The backs remain unchanged for the clash against Pontypool, Robin Lock having recovered from the injury that forced him off at half-time and Gareth Morris continues as captain in the absence of Lee Highgate.

Up front Nick Hampson comes in at open-side, for his first game of the season, following his transfer in the summer from Cardiff and South African Jaen Botes replaces John Barley in the second row.

“Pontypool have had a decent start to the season and with Shaun Connor at 10 they have a massive player of influence,” commented Wanderers coach Chris Ower.

“Once again we are looking for improvement from our young side,” added manager Darren Joy.
