Each debenture will guarantee debenture holders a priority right to buy tickets for Wales home rugby matches organised by the WRU, excluding any potential Rugby World Cup games which may take place at the Stadium.

The WRU is offering 2,000 debentures for a set price of £6,000 each in the middle and upper tiers of the Millennium Stadium.

More than 1,000 potential buyers have already registered to receive the Prospectus.

Potential buyers will need to register to receive a Prospectus, which contains the full terms and conditions and an application form which must be completed to apply to purchase a debenture.

Each £6,000 debenture secures the right to buy the same seat for all Wales home rugby matches organised by the WRU which excludes any potential Rugby World Cup games which may take place at the Stadium.

Those who successfully apply and secure a debenture before January 14, 2011 will be able to apply to purchase a ticket for their debenture seat for the Wales v England RBS 6 Nations international in Cardiff on February 4, 2011.

The Group Chief Executive of the Welsh Rugby Union, Roger Lewis, said: ”We are delighted to offer supporters the chance to secure these new debentures to celebrate such an important anniversary in the history of the WRU.

“Rugby is the national sport of Wales and savouring the unique atmosphere of a Welsh home game along with tens of thousands of our passionate and loyal fans is a unique experience.

“We know the demand for debentures is huge and constant so we are very pleased to have been able to allocate these new 2,000 seats.

“Our players and coaches freely admit that the support of the Welsh fans is an important factor for them when they play at home and we want as many people as possible to get the chance to be part of that.

“We wanted to launch this offer now because 2011 is going to be a fantastic year for Welsh rugby as we build to the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

“We host England and Ireland in the RBS 6 Nations and then take on the Barbarians for a 130th anniversary celebration game on June the fourth.

“England will play Wales in Cardiff on August 13 and then there is a RWC send off match against Argentina here on August 20, just before the squad leaves for New Zealand.

“We have already announced our intention to host a game in Cardiff each June and then as well as the RBS 6 Nations there is the Autumn series which is now a staple of our international sporting calendar.

“This all means that debenture holders will have the opportunity to enjoy regular international rugby in a stadium which is recognised by players and supporters as one of the best in the world.”

The WRU Sales and Marketing Manager, Craig Maxwell, added: “We are delighted by the fantastic response we have already had from people who want to purchase these 130th Anniversary debentures.

“The debenture system is now a tried and tested method of securing your own seat at the Stadium and we know how popular it is with fans.”

At the end of the 15 year period the £6,000 purchase fee will be repaid to each debenture holder, subject to the terms and conditions as set out in the Prospectus.

WRU 130th Anniversary Debenture holders will be able to have the right to purchase one seat for every Wales home game held at the Millennium Stadium until July 1 2026. All the debenture seats are in the middle and upper tiers of the South Stand, immediately behind the posts.
