A try count of 5-4 provided Cardiff with a narrow 29-26 victory after a spirited come back from North Wales during the second half of the game.

Canadian international Connor Braid open the scoring for North Wales in the 14th minute and converted his own try with three other tries in the second half scored by centre Nick Blevins, wing Ben Stelmaszek and scrum half Sean White.

Cardiff full back Alex Cuthbert capped an impressive display by scoring a hat trick of tries with scores in either half with flanker Thomas Young, centre Nathan Rees and second row Dan Partridge also crossing the white line. Cardiff’s two conversations came from outside half Scott Sneddon.

North Wales Senior Academy travel south again next weekend to take on Aberavon at the Talbot Athletic Ground (KO 12pm.)
