James: We’ll do it for Warbie

Prop Paul James believes Wales have everything to play for when they face Australia in the Rugby World Cup third place play off at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday night.

He wants his teammates to step onto the pitch knowing they could finish the tournament as the third placed team in world rugby.

The hard scrummaging forward declared ”It will give the lads some heart to do it for Warbie. We are going to miss him because he has been such a massive leader in this competition but now the  boys can do it for him.

“What has happened to him is in the past and now the boys will all be focusing on what is going to happen on Friday night.

“It was so disappointing to lose against France but at the end of the day this next game is for a third place spot and we came into this competition wanting to go as far as we possibly could.

“We have had a bit of time off to get over the France game but it won’t take much for us to start focusing on the game ahead now. This is a third place play off and we mean business.”

He believes the Wales forward performance will hold the key to making an impact against the Wallabies.

James declared: ”If we front up as a pack this week we can release some quick ball for the backs to work with.

“We haven’t got where we are now through luck but through a lot of hard work and focusing on what we have to do.

“Although we are very disappointed not to be in the final it’s a short turn around this week so we can’t mope around and we have to move forward quite sharply.

“The Wallabies are a very strong team and we will have to put in a performance and go for it. We have done well so far but we won’t lost sight of what this opportunity means for Wales on Friday.

“We have a lot of youngsters coming through in this team and doing well here can only be good for Welsh rugby.”
