Guy Flanagan’s late penalty helped Bridgend defeat Pontypool 23-21 to record their fourth victory in successive weeks. Young winger Kristian Phillips continued his good form, scoring a first half brace. Back row Rhys Bowen and winger Ryan Owen scored Pontypool’s tries.
Bedwas leapfrogged Newport into tenth place after defeating the Black and Ambers 29-20 at the Bridgefield. Impressive kicking from Richard Powell and tries from centre Kristian Owen and back row Phil Sargent helped secure the victory
High flyers Llandovery kept the pressure on those around them by securing a bonus point win over Cardiff. The Drovers tries came from winger Huw Grundy, full back Mike Evans, centre Mathew Jacobs and lock Luke Kendall. Flyhalf Gareth Davies’ superb kicking throughout ensured that Cardiff picked up a losing bonus point.
