Glynneath of Division Two West, last season’s SWALEC Plate runner-up, have been given a tough task in the second round of this year’s competition after being drawn to travel to Seven Sisters.

The Division Three South West club are lying in third place in their division but they have been beaten twice at Maes Dafydd already this season so Glynneath will be confident of making progress.

Dunvant of Division Three West defeated 2010-11 semi-finalists Gorseinon 20-18 in round one but their reward is a difficult trip to Division Two West’s, Felinfoel.  The Broadacre club are in second spot in Division Three West and are sure to give Felinfoel a difficult afternoon.

Division Three West clubs Haverfordwest and Tenby meet at Merlins Bridge having already locked swords in the league this season. In October, Haverfordwest defeated the Seasiders 34-17 at Heywood Lane, and as the Blues are top of the division and undefeated to date in the league, they will be looking for a second victory and a place in round three.

Maesteg Quins are undefeated in Division Three South West and the present holders of the SWALEC Bowl trophy, but they can be sure of a hard game after Kenfig Hill were drawn to visit the Playing Fields.

The Mules top Two West with only one defeat from nine outings and after falling at the second hurdle last year they will be ready to lower the Quins colours.

Ystrad Rhondda will have no complaints after being drawn to visit Abercynon. Both sides play in Division Two East and last week Ystrad travelled to Abercynon and ran out convincing 26-11 victors to cement their position at the top of the division.

Fairwater host Dowlais just two weeks after meeting them in a Division Three South West league match at Waterhall Park. Both sides are finding life difficult in the league at present so this one could go either way.
