Dragons lock Charteris made his return from wrist surgery for his region’s clash with Munster on Friday night, his first game back since the Rugby World Cup.
The 6ft 9in lock played all 80 minutes and came through unscathed to provide Wales head coach Warren Gatland with another welcome option in the second row as he prepares to name his team tomorrow (Tuesday, 1pm – Cor.) for the penultimate match of the Championship.
With Wales’ final Six Nations match against France, in a fortnight’s time, a pre-Christmas sell-out, the clash with the Azzurri will be many a fan’s final chance to see the 2012 outfit in action in Cardiff before the summer.
Tickets sales are about to break through the 60,000 mark and, although tickets are selling in their hundreds on a daily basis, with 74,500 seats the Millennium Stadium still has capacity.
