The hit play The Two Worlds of Charlie F., written by Sheers, will be enjoyed by audiences in Wales on 25th, 26th and 28th July.

Following a group of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel, the play created by The Theatre Royal Haymarket Masterclass Trust in partnership with The Royal British Legion and Defence Recovery Capability, took the West End by storm in January.

The real-life stories of conflict and recovery written by Sheers will be heading to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe following the Cardiff shows.

The Two Worlds of Charlie F. is a soldier’s view of service, injury and recovery. Moving from the war in Afghanistan, through the dream world of morphine-induced hallucinations to the physio rooms of Headley Court, the play explores the consequences of injury, both physical and psychological, and its effects on others as the soldiers fight to win the new battle for survival at home.

Taken from the personal experience of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel involved, The Two Worlds of Charlie F. is a darkly comic, authentic and uplifting tale of survival performed by those who were there.

Sheers said:  “I’m thrilled The Two Worlds of Charlie F. is coming to Wales. Seven per cent of the British Armed Forces are recruited from Wales even though Wales makes up just 5% of the British population.

“On a personal note I’m especially pleased the play is coming to the Sherman, a theatre in which I first acted at the age of 11.”

The Two Worlds of Charlie F. will be at Sherman Cymru, Cardiff on 25, 26 & 28 July at 7.30pm. There is a matinee performance on 28 July at 2.30pm. Suitable for ages 16+.

Tickets are £15 – £22. Concessions available and under 25s get half prices tickets. All proceeds go to The Royal British Legion and The Theatre Royal Haymarket Masterclass Trust.
