It will be the first meeting of the two clubs since the final game of the 1994/95 season when an Ebbw Vale victory sealed their promotion to the top tier of Welsh rugby.

Overall, there have been seven games between the two sides, one cup game in 1982/83 where Ebbw scraped a 12-9 win away at the Otters’ ground and six division two fixtures with the honours just about shared.

While Ebbw started their season with a 12-try win, Narberth also ran in an impressive six tries in their win over League One West champions TATA Steel.

This weekend, the Steelmen will be led by hooker Matthew Williams who celebrated the start of his tenth successive season of senior rugby last weekend with a try. A rare one-club player, Williams deputises for regular captain Damien Hudd who is recovering from injury.

Despite it being just the second game of the season both sides will be looking to secure the east versus west bragging rights at Eugene Cross Park and with 18 tries between the two sides in their opening games, it promises to be an exciting match.
