Tata Steel made Newbridge work hard for their 18-13 win at the Welfare Ground. Full back Ceri Young crossed for both Newbridge tries and Neil Burnett added one conversion and a brace of penalties.

Bargoed romped into a 28-0 half time lead against visitors Bridgend Athletic before storming to a 43-12 win, running in seven tries.

Wing Gareth Dare went over for a hat-trick, no 8 Lewis Weyman touched down twice and centre Simon Parry and replacement scrum half Craig Wilson added the others. Josh Prosser converted four of the tries.

Ebbw Vale were far too strong for Pontypool and the leading points scorers in the Championship raced to a 55-8 success at Eugene Cross Park.

A last minute try by wing Connor Trueman gave Cardiff Met a 25-22 win at Beddau.

Josh Walker, Tom Hall and Tom Bax also went over for the Students with Mark Cook slotting a conversion and penalty goal.

The home side were awarded a penalty try converted by Tom Benjamin who also landed five penalties but the victory was snatched from them right at the end by Trueman.

Narberth edged out Blackwood 35-32 in a thrilling encounter at Glan yr Afon Park where both sides crossed for five tries apiece. One extra penalty goal from centre James Russell gave the Otters the win.

Three penalties and a conversion of a Stuart Allen try by outside half Ian Brooks was enough to give Bonymaen a 16-13 victory over visitors Glamorgan Wanderers.

Whitland are still searching for that elusive first victory after they went down 32-18 at home to Llanharan who also bagged a bonus point with four tries. Cody Rees was the star for the winners with a try, three conversions and a penalty goal.
