The former Newport Gwent Dragons wing moved to Biarritz Olympique in the summer but remains determined to add to his nine caps.
He has made a flying start to life in the Top 14, in which the Basque club have won four of their six opening fixtures of the season.
He recently met with Warren Gatland and Rob Howley and assured the Wales coaches that he is as determined as ever to represent his country.
“I had a meeting with the coaches a couple of weeks ago about targets and goals,” said Brew.
“They asked me if I still wanted to play for Wales. Definitely, I want to win more caps.
“It will start here and I will have to play well for Biarritz to get noticed.”
Brew has quickly settled into life on the French coast. He takes weekly French lessons, regularly dips into the famous
Biarritz surf and has even bought a Vespa.
“It’s been pretty smooth,” added Brew.
“It takes a bit of getting used to and is a learning curve but I’m enjoying it.
“It was the right time to experience a new culture and way of life. We thought we might as well do it now or regret it in the future.”
And he is relishing looking horns with another Welshman in France when Biarritz take on Mike Phillips’ Bayonne on the weekend.
“We were told in pre-season that they don’t care how we win as long as we win otherwise there is no point in coming back to Biarritz!
“It will be one of the biggest derbies I have played in. They are so passionate about the game it is beyond.”
