Former Wales captain and women’s U20 coach Liza Burgess will be in attendance to pass on the experience gained over the 87 caps she won for her country.
Alongside Burgess, the WRU’s lead officer for the women’s and girl’s game Ben Rose will be at the event as well as some current Welsh internationals to give help and advice to girls attending the session. The day will commence with registration at 11.00am with sessions starting around 11.30am.
The day is a one off national event although there are plans to hold similar sessions before regional women’s games going forward into the season. Any girl is welcome to attend the event as long as they are aged between 11 and 18.
Those taking part in the session will be invited to take part in skill sessions suitable for girls of all abilities and speak to WRU staff about how to get involved in the game.
“Any one from any club can come down to the event and get involved,” said Dragons development officer Gwesyn Price-Jones.
“Coaches from the women’s Premiership clubs will be taking the session and if you are aged between 11 and 18 and interested in rugby then I’d encourage you to come down.”
After the skill session is finished, the girls will be invited to watch Cardiff Quins take on Neath Athletic in a Women’s Premier League Match. (KO 2.30pm)
