Tondu maintained their five-point lead at the top of the Division One West table with a 28-12 victory against Llangennech.

Full-back Chris Jenkins grabbed a brace of tries while Matthew Phillips and Hywell Davies also crossed as the league’s early pace-setters secured a bonus-point.

Second-placed Cwmllynfell kept up the pressure on the leaders with a five-try win over Carmarthen Athletic, who replied with two tries of their own in the 41-20 loss.

Chris Moore touched down twice as Ammanford moved up to fifth place with a comfortable 35-16 win over Skewen. Gary Stevens and Dafydd Pritchard also went over to condemn Skewen to a sixth defeat in seven games.

Bleddyn Davies and Carl Sacey both crossed the whitewash twice while Rhys Irvelove added seven conversions in a one-sided contest that safeguarded their four-point lead over second-placed Rhydyfelin, 27-7 winners over Ynysybwl.

RGC 1404 saw their unbeaten start to the season ended in a surprise defeat to mid-table Treorchy. The Zebras edged a close encounter 16-8 thanks to Craig Everett’s try that also denied the North Walians a valuable bonus point.

Adam O’Driscoll scored the only try of the game as Heol y Cyw narrowly beat Merthyr 10-3, however Tredegar remain rooted to the bottom after a 50-5 defeat to fellow strugglers Gilfach Goch, who doubled their tally for the season. Rumney are sixth after a 29-12 win over Mountain Ash.
