Presented by the Gwent Dragon’s Coaching Association, the session’s theme was fun warm ups for children from Caerleon U10.

They took part in a full hour training session of different and innovative warm ups with an emphasis on spatial awareness, movement and most importantly, fun.

The session was conducted by Chris Cornford and Christian Hitt, WRU participation officers for the Dragons region.

“We are conscious as coaches that children get bored with the same old 20 laps of the field and press ups syndrome,” said Nigel Way, WRU Coach Development Officer for the Dragons region.

“They want something different and our Participation officers and PDO’s have attended courses recently that have helped refresh and reinvigorate warms ups for our youngest players.”

These sessions will be made available on the WRU’s Coaching Locker in the not too distant future.
