Bridgend look to move above Cardiff

Bridgend Ravens will be hoping to return to winning ways as they round up their trio of away games with a trip to the Arms Park to face Cardiff tonight.

The Ravens won their opening league match of the season against Llanelli but then went on a run of five losses before beating Newport in a 12-try thriller at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field. From then on they have seemed to have found their feet and were on track to record five wins in a row before being brought back down to earth by Llanelli at Parc y Scarlets last week.

Cardiff were the victors when the sides met back in September as the visitors romped to an 11-38 victory but the Ravens got their own back in the British & Irish Cup, when their forwards dominated in the scrum and helped the side to a 25-7 win. Victory for the Ravens on this occasion also presents the added bonus of moving above Cardiff in the Principality Premiership table.

The Ravens have made four changes from the side that took on Llanelli last weekend. Once again the backs remain mostly unchanged, with Ben Thomas brought in at fullback with Ashley Evans moving over to the wing for Tom Grabham.

There are two changes in the front row with Ken Dowding and Chris Francis coming in for Daniel Suter and Ashleigh James, respectively. The final change in the pack is at flanker, with Andrew Waite starting ahead of Jonathon Vaughan. Arthur Ellis captains the Ravens for the very first time.
