Andrew Maclaughlan and Lewis Protheroe crossed over for the leaders in a cagey affair that finished 10-9. More convincing were second place Ebbw Vale, as they trounced Llanharan 62-11. The confident home side scored nine tries, with two from Chris Thomas, and Josh Lewis put over a penalty and six conversions.

In a thrilling encounter at Glan-yr-Afon Park, two tries from Rhys Humphreys failed to give Blackwood the edge over Bridgend Athletic who grabbed a narrow 28-24 win. Blackwood picked up the consolation bonus point but were made to pay for their mistakes by Steve Davies, who kicked three penalties for the away side in a much needed three points.

In a scrappy game in the capital, No.10 Matt O’ Brien did the business for Cardiff Met, kicking four penalties to overcome Newbridge 12-0. The sides are now on the same points in the league, lying in third and fourth place respectively.

Narbeth raced to a third home win on the bounce over struggling Pontypool, coming away with a bonus point. Two tries from Tom Burnell and two conversions and a penalty from James Russell helped the Otters to a 27-6 victory.

Elsewhere, there was further woe for Whitland, who were brushed aside 17-6 at home to Beddau while three tries from Simon Evans and two from Ben Davies secured a crushing 60-15 victory for Tata Steel over Glamorgan Wanderers.
