Rob Howley’s men travel to Paris for their second clash of this year’s RBS 6 Nations knowing that les Bleus will be desperate to atone for their defeat to Italy on the opening weekend.

The Italian victory has left French rugby fans shocked but backs coach Jones is well aware of the challenge Wales face.

“It’s going to be a difficult task regardless of which side France put out,” he said.

“They are a fantastic rugby team, can attack from all areas and are a quality outfit. They have got exceptional ball carriers and can get on the front foot very quickly.

“We are well aware of how good they are.”

Wales fell behind in the first half of their defeat to Ireland but roared back into contention with three second half tries.

Alex Cuthbert, the ever impressive Leigh Halfpenny and Craig Mitchell all crossed as Wales came close to a dramatic comeback.

And Jones says Wales are close to putting together an 80 minute performance.

“When we are attacking it’s not rocket science, it’s about preparing as best as we can,” he said.

“In top level sport there is not much in it.

“We are focusing on getting the top two or three per cent things back in our favour and we are not far away from being on a positive run.”
