The runaway leaders ran in five tries tin a 36-13 victory that enabled them to move further ahead at the top of the table as second placed Bedwas fell to defeat on a great weekend for Dale Mcintosh’s men.

Newport went down 34-27 to Bridgend at home in a remarkable match. Both sides scored four tries each to get the bonus point, while there were two yellow cards apiece and a red card for Newport’s tight-head Gary Robinson.

The home side had raced into to a 27-10 lead with tries from full-back Geraint O’Driscoll, impressive flanker Craig Atwell and centre Dan Robinson. Elliot Frewen scored immediately after half-time to make it a 17 point lead. Bridgend stormed back into contention with Lloyd Evans adding to Scott Hicks’s first-half effort.

Glen Lewis scored a quick brace with his try in the dying stages sealing an unlikely comeback. Lewis Williams chipped in with 14 points from the tee.

Llanelli triumphed 29-26 over Llandovery to move into fourth place. Tries from Kyle Evans and Kristian Phillips, were cancelled out by a neat double for Llandovery’s Chris Knight. James Garland kicked 16 points for the visitors but could not match the metronomic Jordan Williams, who slotted 19 points. Williams’s fifth penalty –the last kick of the game- won it for the home side.

Neath ripped up the form book to shock high-flying Bedwas 29-27. A monstrous performance from the pack led to two penalty tries for Neath.

Luc Jones and Ryan Evans dived over to guarantee the bonus point. It was a dramatic finish as Bedwas shipped two tries when yellow cards reduced them to 13 men.

Cross Keys were turned over at the Arms Parks by an impressive Cardiff display. Wing Jamie Davies scorched his way to a hat-trick to keep Cardiff in seventh.

Aberavon ambushed Carmarthen Quins 23-17, to gain four much needed points.
