The five tries to two win at Church Bank means the Drovers are still five points behind Keys but have six games to play as opposed to four by their Gwent rivals.
Games between the two clubs are generally tight but on this occasion, the home side were clear and deserved winners after an outstanding first half at the end of which they led 25-3.
Lyndon Lewis’ side were ever dangerous with ball in hand and made their intentions clear from the start with backs and forwards handling with great dexterity.
Excellent centre Jack Roberts got a brace of tries and wing Sam Soul the other and with fly half James Garland adding 10 points, it marked a stirring first half from the home side.
A drop goal from fly half Dorian Jones was the only response from Keys.
Soul got on the end of a well-judged chip from impressive scrum half Lee Rees to clinch the bonus point but Keys rallied with converted tries from wing Kristian Baller and flanker Rob Nash to narrow the deficit to 32-17.
But replacement flanker Shaun Miles nipped through for another home try without a hand laid on him to put the issue beyond any doubt.
