The victory, secured after the Wizards mounted a stirring comeback from 34-7 down, means Keys’ play-off hopes are over for the season following the 41-39 loss.

With the visitors 20 points ahead at the break, only one result looked possible. But Aberavon’s recent run has seen confidence in the squad soar and their fourth successive win means they’ll now go into this weekend’s SWALEC Cup semi-final with Neath in high spirits.
When Tom Lampard stormed through for a try early in the second half, Dorian Jones kicked the conversion to make it 34-7 and Keys looked like securing an easy win.
They failed to react to Aberavon’s second half showing though as Simon King’s men got over a poor first half performance to rally impressively.
In the first half, King’s side struggled as they failed to lay a hand on any of Keys’ attackers. But as good as Keys were in the first half, they inexplicably let their lead slip to the frustration of head coach Greg Woods.
Scott Matthews, standing in for captain Rob Nash, impressed for Keys, as did hooker Gerwyn Price, but their performances were not enough to secure the win.
Elliot Jones crossed twice for Keys with Nathan Trowbridge and Price adding to Lampard’s score. But Woods will be mystified as to how they ended up on the losing side.
That they did was partly down to an excellent fightback from Aberavon but also a poor second half performance from Woods’ side
It allowed Matthew Jenkins (2), Nathan Brown, David Pritchard, Richard Carter and Richard Thomas to all cross for Aberavon and Davies’ late penalty was the final nail in their coffin.
