The first, Josh Davies, is a 20 year old scrum-half who is currently a part of the Wales Under 20 squad taking part in the Junior World Championships in France. Davies, who started Wales’ opening win of the tournament against Samoa on Wednesday, joins the Blacks from Bedwas after an excellent season with the Caerphilly-based club. He is a former Newport Gwent Dragons Academy player, playing two full seasons for Newport during that time.
Kyle Tayler, a 21 year old openside flanker, is the second signing. The former captain of the Cardiff Metropolitan University side, helping to lead them to third in the WRU Championship last season, Tayler has also come through the Dragons Academy.
He also featured for the Wales Students team last season, captaining the team against England Students.
Neath head coach Neil Edwards said: “We’re delighted to have signed Josh and Kyle. They are two of the most promising young players on the circuit. Both are technically excellent in their positions and we think they’ll do an excellent job for us.”
The club are also pleased to announce that top performers full-back Aaron Bramwell, centre John Leyshon and lock Jonathan Griffiths, have all committed to the Blacks for another season.
“All three players did well for us last season,” Edwards said.
“They are committed to helping Neath to a successful 2013-14 season and are already looking forward to getting back into training.”
