The Sardis Road club are top of the Principality Premiership with four wins from four, one point clear of Carmarthen Quins in second place.

A trip to Church Bank is next up for Pontypridd before attentions turn to cross-border competition with ties against Edinburgh Academicals, London Welsh and London Scottish in the British & Irish Cup.

“We’ve got a massive game this week with Llandovery away. We know they’re a good side and we always have some tough battles there,” said Dacey.

“Then it’s up to Edinburgh – we really want to do something in the British & Irish Cup this year but we’ve got to focus on the next one first which is Llandovery.”

Dacey has been in superb form in the opening month of the new campaign and was again on the score sheet in the 38-18 win over Newport last Sunday. The centre bagged a brace against the Black and Ambers as his partnership with fellow centre Dafydd Lockyer continues to trouble opposition defences.

Looking back at the win over Newport, Dacey added: “It was a tough old encounter. We made mistakes in the first half and at the start of the second half which we weren’t happy about.

“But it’s a good win, we know we’ve got lots to work on so we’re happy enough.

“Locks is a bit unhappy he’s not scoring tries as he’s setting them up for me. I think I’ll have to set up a few for him now!

“He runs hard and if I’m on his shoulder there are always going to be opportunities. It’s nice to keep scoring.”
