The Steelmen made it eight wins from eight with a 39-10 success at The Welfare Ground that ensures they are 11 points clear at the top of the table already.
The leaders scored five tries in the bonus-point win, with Jack Flower grabbing a brace and David James and Ashley Sweet also touching down in addition to a first-half penalty try.
The contest was closer than the scoreline suggests, though, with the visitors leading by just eight points early in the second half.
Newbridge fought hard to become the first team to topple Ebbw Vale in the league this term but they ultimately had no answer for the power of the opposition pack. A pair of well-worked driving mauls created the third and fourth tries for Ebbw Vale and there was no way back for Newbridge from there.
Fly-half Carl Meyer kicked 14 points for Ebbw Vale, with Newbridge’s scores coming from a Ben Snell try and a conversion and penalty from Kieran Meek.
Narberth jumped up to second in the table with a thrilling 35-29 win at Tondu.
Lowly Tondu picked up a pair of bonus points for finishing within seven and scoring four tries but it was Narberth who headed home the happier.
The visitors trailed 10-9 at the break but hit back to take a 25-10 lead before Tondu responded in style to make it a nervy finish for Narberth.
No8 Steffan Phillips, second row Dylan Richards, centre Morgan Griffiths and scrum-half Rhys Lane all crossed for the Otters, with fly-half Iestyn Griffiths adding three conversions and three penalties to finish with a personal tally of 15 points.
Ashton Evans touched down twice for Tondu, who also saw Jonathan Humphreys and Matthew Murphy cross the Narberth line.
Llanharan were the side overtaken by Narberth but they too were winners in Round 8 as they eventually saw off a spirited Bridgend Athletic 23-21 at The Newbridge Fields.
Llanharan led 13-8 at half time in an encounter that was nip and tuck throughout. Bridgend Athletic took the lead with around a quarter of an hour remaining but Llanharan hit back to claim the winning score with time fast running out.
Codey Rees was the late hero for Llanharan, with the playmaker also converting tries from wing Harry Davies and centre Ryan Evans and kicking two penalties prior to his timely winner.
The hosts celebrated tries from Rhys Ward-Jones and Aled Thomas and Stephen Lewis added a conversion and three penalties.
At the other end of the table, neither Blackwood or Bonymaen were able to climb up the standings after they were beaten by Bargoed and Beddau respectively.
Bargoed were 22-11 victors at Blackwood thanks to tries from Lee Pearson, Reg Morgan and a penalty try for a scrum offence. Josh Prosser kicked a conversion and penalty and Phil Price also added a conversion.
Centre Nicky Tucker was Blackwood’s sole try scorer, with Andrew Humberstone slotting a brace of penalties at Glan-yr-Afon Park.
It was a similar scoreline at Mount Pleasant Park as hosts Beddau ran out 22-10 winners to move up to ninth and ensure Bonymaen remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
Beddau made the most of the elements as they raced into a 22-0 half-time lead thanks to tries from No8 and captain Glenn Slater, second row Tom Payne and scrum-half Dai Francis.
Tom Benjamin was on target with two of the three conversions and a penalty but Beddau failed to build on their strong start as they missed out on a try-scoring bonus point after the break.
Instead, it was struggling Bonymaen who had the better of the second half, with right wing Nathan Brooks scoring their only try and fly-half Richard Cuniffe contributing five points with the boot.
RGC 1404 beat Tata Steel 22-6 away from home in the league’s only other fixture, while Pontypool and Cardiff Met will have to meet at a later date after the weather saw their clash at Ponytpool Park postponed.
